Covid 19 / FAQ

​Information regarding the operation of our stores during Covid-19 (updated 25/06/20)

Our Sharrow Vale Rd store has reopened to the public.

Official hours are Monday to Saturday 11am to 6pm, although we may be staffed both earlier and later.

You are able to come in and purchase individual bottles.

Customers collecting pre-sold goods have a priority service.

Our Fulwood Rd store remains CLOSED but we are working on reopening.

We have rearranged the store furniture and have moved our counter to the front of the store.

We have put in place a glass screen and hand sanitiser is available for public use - please use it.

Please do not touch the bottles (as we will have to sanitise and quarantine any bottles you have touched but do not take).

You can enter a small section of the shop but wider browsing is not permitted.

Only one customer group is allowed in at any one time.

Please observe social distancing if a queue forms.

The nature of our business is that we provide advice and so our customer interaction time will be longer than most other businesses. Be aware that at peak shopping times (Friday and Saturday) that you may have to wait a little longer before you are served. In order to minimise waiting times either aim to shop on our quieter days (Monday to Thursday) or purchase online and use the CLICK AND COLLECT option.

CLICK AND COLLECT customers have priority service. If you have ordered online or via email or telephone and have paid for your goods already then DO NOT join the queue. Please come straight to the door with your order number and name and we can serve you quicker.

We are still delivering to Sheffield addresses with a £50 minimum order. The quickest way is to order online via our website.

We also can take email and phone orders.

Orders placed via our website can be paid with Paypal and will be our priority delivery.

Shopping online

The platform we use to host our webstore has faults on it which we can not fix. We are in the process of building a new home for our webstore but in the meantime we know that some browsers do not support the "create account" function. 

Should you see a 403 error whilst doing this then the best option for shopping is to ​place items into your basket and then use the guest option at the checkout​.

Most people can order things through the site, if you can't and it's not working for you, call us.

​Delivery Areas and Times

Local delivery is free on 6 bottles of wine or a minimum of £50 spend.

Local delivery is classed as the following postcodes: S2, S6, S7, S8, S10, S11, S17

We do deliver beyond these areas  - call us and we'll let you know when we can get your order to you.

We can post items for delivery beyond Sheffield but our courier and postal services are at the whim of the current situation we find ourselves in. Call us and we can advise. 

Our guaranteed delivery days are now Monday, Wednesday and Friday to the Sheffield post codes above. Cut off times for ordering are usually 2pm

Orders taken after Friday 2pm up until Monday 2pm will be delivered on Monday

Orders taken after Monday 2pm up until Wednesday 2pm will be delivered Wednesday

Orders taken after Wednesday 2pm up until Friday 2pm will be delivered Friday.

We aim to deliver from 4pm to 6pm. We can always text you 20 minutes or so before we deliver if you require.

Where possible we will try and deliver orders as soon as possible and may deliver outside of these dates and hours if it means getting your order to you quicker. 

We currently do not have deliveries available on Sunday. Orders placed on a Sunday and after 2pm on a Saturday will be put onto Mondays delivery schedule.

We try to ensure that each delivery is collected by a house-hold. In some cases where it is clear to us that no one is in and we would struggle to redeliver we will try to find a safe place to put your delivery. Our drivers will take a photograph so we have a record of that delivery being made. Where it is clear that no one is in and a safe place can not be located we will take the items back to the store and contact you to arrange a re-delivery.  


For your peace of mind we have been regularly sanitising and following W.H.O. advice from the start of the situation. Both our stores have been closed since March 23rd and before closing had limited the number of people in the store and a "don't touch the bottles" policy.

We regularly sanitise between delivery drops. To comply with social distancing we operate a "knock on the door and retire" delivery policy. 

We like to call it a delivery from the #winefairies.
